Create a New/Clean Database

If you have any problem with your WhatsUp Gold Database and you need to try the system with a clean database. Instead of installing another instance of WUG, you can follow This step-by-step article to see how to create new/clean database on your existing WUG installation.

  1. Open Windows Services and stop Ipswitch Service Control Manager service.
  2. Restart Microsoft SQL Server service.
  3. Login to the database server using SQL Management Studio.
  4. Backup your existing databases (WhatsUp, NetFlow and NFArchive).
  5. Right-click on the databases and then delete.
  6. Open RemoteDBConfig.exe.  (C:\Program Files (x86)\Ipswitch\WhatsUp)
  7. Login to your database using your SQL Administrator username/password and then click Connect.
  8. Check the option Create backups for existing databases and then click Continue.
